Stony Plain FunTeam HockeyAustin Strachan2025 Nicky Sereda Outstanding Participant Award Recipient |
|
Austin Strachan is 16 years old and has been a participant with FunTeam Alberta for 6 years. Austin has been an excellent member of the Stony Plain Fun Team Hockey group for several years. He is a respectful young man towards adults and other players, while also being looked up to by many of his teammates and players he coaches. Austin demonstrates the Fun Team principles every time he is out on the ice, whether it be passing the puck, helping a teammate or coaching a younger player. Austin is always playing around with the younger kids when he is on the ice. We typically have 5 minutes of free play to start each ice time, where the kids are free to handle the puck, take shots, or just skate around. Austin typically takes it upon himself to play keep away or stick handle with the kids during this time, making the free play fun for them and building their skills. Thank you for being such a strong ambassador for our organization, a great coach and teammate on the ice. The community of Stony Plain and our organization can’t thank you enough for being a positive force for hockey, and we look forward to your continued involvement with Stony Plain FunTeam Hockey. Thank you to Cody Parent for his nomination. Austin is a deserving recipient of this award. Congratulations Austin!Read the article featured in the Spruce Grove Examiner HERE on Austin's recognition. |
