Pictured is longtime Board member and Group Manager of Stony Plain FunTeam hockey, Terry Young. Terry served the community of Stony Plain for 19 years by organizing and operating this hockey group that provided families a place where hockey was a place to come together to socialize, develop some skill and just have fun.
Terry was also a Board member with our organization up until 2017 giving us insight on how current FunTeam groups operate and how we could provide a better product for families across Alberta to enjoy.
It's hard to make out, but at our last AGM we asked Terry to stop by so we could present him with one of the soapstone carvings that Paul Kane's art department made for us. On this carving was a picture of a mother duck leading her newborn ducklings. This is exactly what Terry did for the community of Stony Plain by providing a recreation opportunity where wins and losses didn't matter.
Thank you Terry for all that you have done for our organization. We mean it from the bottom of our heart!
