Family Try-Athlon

Since 2001 FunTeam Alberta has successfully promoted the FunTeam Family Try-athlon. A FunTeam Family Try-athlon is similar to a triathlon, but a Try-athlon is an experience that anyone can participate in. This is a non-competitive, fun way for families across Alberta to get active together. It is a one day event, comprised of a 2km inline skate, cycling and a run/walk. However, any or all of these events may be substituted. Participants can either take part individually or in teams of three with each member completing a leg of the race. This event is a great way to promote healthy living while bringing together families and communities in an activity that is fun for all ages and activity levels.

This event must fit with the following FunTeam principles: low cost, less competitive, involve family participation, fair play, promote a healthy lifestyle, inclusive and FUN!

FunTeam is pleased to support community volunteers by alleviating many of the organizational challenges. FunTeam will provide

  • $500.00 Grant
  • Gatorade jugs
  • A chance to win a family vacation for 4!
  • Advertising and Promotional Material.
  • A draw for $100 M&M Meat Shops Gift Card
